Between us, we've spent four decades on the line — fine dining, BBQ pits, hotel banquets, and neighborhood spots that don't take reservations. We've called payroll on a Sunday, mopped the line at 1 a.m., and rolled out a 220-cover tailgate before sunrise.
Poor Boys of Richmond started because we kept hearing the same thing from the people hiring caterers, the owners hiring consultants, and the operators hiring agencies: nobody on the other end of the call had ever actually worked the line.
So we built the outfit we wished existed. Three services, one phone number, no fluff.

Clayton Navarre
— a legacy in every bite.
My story starts with my family name, Navarre. Spanish and African roots, woven into New Orleans. My ancestors' journey shaped the path I'm on today.
Food in my family begins and ends with my father, Arnold Navarre, born in New Orleans in 1948. The men in our family carried the culinary torch — proud cooks and grillmasters of New Orleans cuisine. Our kitchen was the heartbeat of the house, and every meal was a celebration.
Laissez les bon temps rouler.
I brought that spirit with me when I opened Poor Boys in Richmond in 2019, my first brick-and-mortar. We closed our doors in 2022, but the story didn't end there — we pivoted to catering and private dinners and kept sharpening the craft.
A new restaurant is always on the horizon. The fire never went out. It's just waiting for the right place to burn bright again.

Poor Boys Catering is the kitchen. Tailgates, private dinners, and corporate events — wood-fired, on-site or drop-off, built around what's good that week.

Navarre Consulting is the operator's side. Menu engineering, ops walkthroughs, concept work, turnaround projects. We've cooked it before we recommend it.

Get Social RVA is the brand. Social, content, and growth — by people who know the difference between a Tuesday lunch and a Friday dinner shift.
